We found a real nice replacement self-adhesive linoleum, and chose a new paint color. Before Christmas (like, minutes before Christmas) I removed all the towel bars, removed the shelf above the sink, removed the framing for the mirror which wasn't going to match the paint, taped the molding, and painted.
Mary picked up new shower curtains, rugs, towel bars and toilet paper dispenser, but we are still looking for a replacement for the shelf above the sink.
I did not get the new linoleum applied. Part of the problem is the old linoleum had come up years ago in some areas near the tub, allowing water to get under the now-unattached linoleum and created divots in the particle board subfloor. I have the repair material (looks kinda like cement) for repairing the floor, so the only thing really preventing progress here is... procrastination.
I also discovered after the painting was done, when I tried to remove the tape from the molding, the print on the molding was coming off also, which was going to look bad, so this project requires replacing the molding.
So here's what this project involves near as I can tell:
- Remove the toilet
- Remove the existing self-adhesive linoleum
- Apply the patch compound to the floor
- Apply the new self-adhesive tile
- Reinstall the toilet
- Purchase new molding
- Install new molding
- Hang Mary's new towel bars and such
- Find and install a replacement shelf above the sink.
